1. General characteristics of the profession
Provides veterinary care to domestic and farm animals, animals in circuses and zoos. It prevents animal diseases, takes measures to increase their productivity, to provide the population with high-quality products. It monitors the veterinary and sanitary condition of the animals' places of residence. Conducts animal inspection and examination of meat and milk, organizes and conducts disinfection and disinfestation of premises of livestock farms and premises for storage and processing of products.
2. Requirements for the individual characteristics of a specialist
Love for animals, developed memory for images, movements, numbers, a high degree of concentration of attention, his stability, strong will, observation, patience, perseverance, endurance and physical strength, accuracy, not aversion, demanding of himself and others.
3. Medical contraindications
Lung diseases, tuberculosis, cardiovascular diseases, chronic diseases of the kidneys and nervous system, endocrine diseases.
4. Requirements for training
Must know: biology, chemistry, drugs, differences in the biological bonds of the animal world, the diseases peculiar to individual species of animals. Must be able to recognize animal diseases, provide qualified medical assistance, properly use veterinary equipment.
