1. General characteristics of the profession

Specialist in shooting game animals and creating conditions for the constant renewal and increase of natural resources.

2. Official duties

A lot of effort must be made to get the gifts of nature, while not devastating its storerooms. Now the main task of our hunting farms is such an organization of hunting, so that it is not to the detriment, but for the benefit of nature. Therefore, the result of hunters' labor is not only the shooting of game animals, but also the creation of conditions for the constant renewal and enhancement of natural resources, the acclimatization and reproduction of new species of animals and birds, and the provision of necessary living conditions for them. During the fishing season, he extracts and delivers to the state collection points the skins of wild fur animals, carcasses of waterfowl and upland game or carcasses of large wild animals. The hunter should possess many special skills: properly remove the skin from the mined beast, conduct primary canning, and dry it. Good possession of hunting firearms, shoot straight, so as not to spoil the animal's skin and not leave the wounded, to be able to follow the tracks, to know the signs of animals staying on the bed, feeding and water - this is not a complete list of hunter's professional skills. During the periods when the offspring of animals and birds appear, the hunter ensures that there is no excessive noise near the nests - he shoots, for example, bred wolves. In winter, the hunter feeds ungulates, laying out hay, salt, food in certain places. During periods of prohibition of hunting, the hunter must be especially vigilant. The fight against poaching, predatory attitude to nature requires from him firmness, and sometimes selflessness and courage. The hunter must be a well-developed and physically fit person. He often has to find himself in difficult situations and quickly find a way out of them. Resourcefulness, courage, decisiveness distinguish a true hunter - not just a hand, but a friend and watch nature. Hunters work in hunting farms and reserves. Work in the fresh air, sometimes in difficult conditions.

3. Qualification requirements

Practical knowledge and skills can be acquired directly in the farms. Hunting with secondary special education is prepared by the Moscow Fur Technical College. Higher education can be obtained at the Irkutsk Agricultural Institute. Related professions: huntsman, hunter
