The general manager of taxation is responsible for setting the corporate tax policy. Prepares tax declarations and accompanying reports in accordance with the tax laws of all levels: federal and local, using laws and other taxation regulations to optimize tax liabilities. Together with other senior executives, he takes part in planning the company's activities at all stages in order to minimize tax costs. Organizes and monitors tax compliance and tax research.

Responsibilities:

  • together with other senior managers involved in the planning of the corporation, to minimize taxes in accordance with the overall objectives of the corporation;
  • considers prospective major transactions at the stage of their execution, makes recommendations, suggests changes in order to achieve the best result in the field of taxation;
  • notifies managers of the introduction of new laws, decisions, regulations and decrees, as well as on proposed bills in the field of taxation and related industries;
  • encourages senior management and the rest of the staff to seek tax advice, raising awareness of taxes in all members of the corporation;
  • advises on tax matters, in determining salaries of executives and drawing up compensation plans for employees;
  • acts on behalf of a tax corporation in relations with various legislative and executive authorities; proposes the interpretation of laws and regulations in order to protect the interests of the company;
  • is a member of committees of chambers of commerce and organizations of industrialists that formulate tax policy;
  • conducts research to establish the company's compliance with tax laws; suggests alternative approaches to reducing tax liabilities;
  • organizes and controls the preparation and filing of requests for court decisions, claims for damages, protests and administrative appeals related to taxation;
  • advises, authorizes and controls litigation in tax matters;
  • authorizes the payment of taxes;
  • engages outside professional firms to use their services in tax matters, controls their actions and determines the boundaries of their activities.
