1. General characteristics of the profession

A person who develops based on the analysis of mathematical models and algorithms for solving economic and other program tasks, ensures that the algorithm can be carried out and the task assigned accordingly by means of computer technology, tests and debugs them.

2. Official duties

Develops a technology for solving the problem at all stages of information processing. Selects a programming language for describing algorithms and data structures. It determines the information to be processed by means of computer technology, its volumes, structure, layouts and schemes for input, processing, storage and output, methods of its control. Performs work on preparing programs for debugging and debugs them. Determines the scope and content of these test cases that provide the most complete verification of the compliance of programs with their functional purpose. It performs the launch of debugged programs and input of the initial data determined by the conditions of the tasks set. Conducts the adjustment of the developed program based on the analysis of the output data. Determines the possibility of using ready-made software products. Develops instructions for working with programs, draws up the necessary technical documentation. Carries out maintenance of the implemented programs and software. Develops and implements automatic program validation systems. Performs work on the unification and typification of computational processes. Takes part in the creation of catalogs and card files of standard programs, in the development of electronic document forms that are subject to computer processing, in the design of programs allowing to expand the field of application of computing equipment. Provides the correct technical operation, uninterrupted operation of computers and individual devices. Participates in the development of long-term and annual plans and schedules of work, maintenance and repair of equipment, measures to improve its operation, prevent downtime, improve the quality of work, efficient use of computing equipment. Carries out the preparation of computers and individual devices for work, their technical inspection, checks for faults, eliminates faults and prevents the occurrence of faults in the future. Takes measures for timely and high-quality implementation of the repair of computers and individual devices on their own or by third parties. Takes part in the inventory. Must protect the property of the enterprise, not disclose information and information that is a commercial secret of the enterprise. Does not give interviews, does not hold meetings and negotiations concerning the activities of the enterprise, without the permission of the management of the enterprise. Observes labor and production discipline, rules and norms of labor protection, the requirements of industrial hygiene and hygiene, fire safety requirements, civil defense. Executes orders and orders of the Director General of the enterprise. Informs the management of the existing shortcomings in the work of the enterprise, the measures taken to eliminate them. It helps to create a favorable business and moral climate in the enterprise.
