2. Official duties
In cultural and educational institutions provides the selection of the necessary literature for readers, the rapid implementation of their applications. Gives literature on the subscription and in reading rooms, examines the requests of readers in order to assist them in choosing the literature. Participates in the acquisition of the library fund, the processing of literature and the compilation of catalogs, in the work on the accounting and storage of the fund, in the promotion of books, in the research and scientifically-methodical work of the library. Conducts an individual conversation with readers, assists them in choosing books and magazines, organizes thematic literary conferences, book exhibitions, completes the book fund, keeps track of the library fund, etc. The librarian should know the contents of artistic, scientific and popular literature, the methodology of individual conversations, forms and methods of holding conferences, exhibitions, etc., rules for accounting and processing of the book fund. Professionally important qualities of a librarian: high communication skills, tact, emotional endurance, good memory.
3. Qualification requirements
Library Technical School or the relevant department of the Institute of Culture.
