1. General characteristics of the profession

The person responsible for the operation and development of automated information systems in terms of system and application software.

2. Official duties

Supervises the programming group (if there is a group within the department). Provides software support. Studies the software market and makes recommendations on the acquisition and implementation of system and application software. Participates in the development of proposals for the choice of computer equipment. Responsible for the quality of purchased (refined) programs, the correctness of their design and maintenance, compliance with design tasks, reliability in operation, for timely and high-quality adjustment of applications that are in experimental and industrial operation. Bears personal responsibility for the safety and non-proliferation of official information provided at his disposal. Responsible for compliance with safety instructions. Receives from the management of the department all the information necessary for the performance of official duties (decrees, orders, orders of higher authorities, methodological, regulatory and other guidance materials, database files) and require the provision of the necessary technical means (computing equipment, communications, etc.) participation in sectoral meetings and seminars on issues within his competence. Gives management suggestions on the acquisition (refinement) of software tools. of the department on the promotion of subordinate employees, the imposition of penalties.

3. Qualification requirements

University degree in engineering or technical education, at least 3 years experience as a programmer, at least 2 years experience in personal IBM-compatible PCs, possessing at least one of the algorithmic languages.
