2. Official duties
The duties of specialists of this kind are, above all, the control and management of the work of a group of salesmen, sales assistants, and cashiers. The experience of various trade enterprises shows that the optimal composition of such a group is more than 10 people. Depending on the method of organizing the sales process at various trading enterprises, the manager of the sales area may be engaged in warehousing and accounting for the goods, timely submission (display) of the goods to the sales area, execution of relevant documents. Acceptance of the goods from the customer and his checking in quantity and quality are usually the responsibility of the merchandiser, but sometimes the manager of the sales area also does this. In addition, he is engaged in the write-off, revaluation, reservation of goods, participates in the inventory, leads the classifier of goods. He is responsible for the availability of price tags, for meeting the deadlines for sales, for replenishing the assortment of the sales area, timely ordering of goods and much more. This also includes such issues as the design of the trading floor. In wholesale stores, the store manager personally works with the most important customers.
