1. General characteristics of the profession
These specialists are characterized by a shift work schedule. Different pager companies practice different schedules - a day (24 hours) in two, a day in three, a day in a day and a night in a day. Somewhere by agreement, operators work only during the day or evening shifts. Holidays and weekends, of course, "dissolve" in the general schedule.
2. Official duties
The main responsibility of the operator of the paging communication is to take a phone call for the pager subscriber and print the received message on the computer.
3. Qualification requirements
A professional operator should have a high print speed (at least 200 beats per minute) and competent Russian. At each shift there are at least two operators receiving messages in English. For knowledge of the language are paid bonuses of about 20% of the salary. From personal qualities are important stress tolerance, communication skills, fast learner, ability and desire to work hard (to be a bit of a workaholic). Anyone with a high print speed (not necessarily a blind method) can become a pager operator. Currently, there are no special courses that train paging operators; training is carried out at each company in the workplace.
