2. Official duties
This is a specialist in product promotion in retail and small wholesale trade. Its main task is to maintain a positive image of its company, to ensure a favorable location of products on store shelves and to monitor its permanent presence on the market. He supplies stores with advertising, presents souvenirs on behalf of the company. The function of the merchandiser also includes the adjustment of retail prices for the product: it monitors their competitiveness, advises sellers on the optimal size of trade allowances. In order to accomplish all these tasks, the merchandiser visits all the stores behind him at least once a week (on average, five or more points per day). He fixes the situation in each of them in a special passport. Based on the travel results, the merchandiser provides a weekly report to the company's marketing department, which reflects the change in the situation on the market for sales of this type of product: the presence or absence of demand, prices set by competitors for similar products, etc. The requirements for candidates for this position are dictated by nothing more than the concern of employers about the image of their company: presentable appearance, sociability, higher or incomplete higher education (students willingly take) age from 20 to 30 years old, high performance, basic knowledge English, driving license category "B", learning. A merchandiser can make a career by taking a position in the marketing department or becoming a sales manager. In many not very large firms, the responsibilities of a merchandiser are performed by dealers - wholesalers of goods, acting on their own behalf and at their own expense.
3. Qualification requirements
Secondary, preferably commercial or economic, education.
