The main task of the mine surveyor is to organize the construction of underground structures, and in some cases, ground structures, taking into account the rules of technical operation and the provisions for the conservation of natural resources and the environment. In order to begin construction of any underground structure, the surveyor should familiarize himself with the design drawings, outline the work plan and familiarize him with the team of workers subordinate to him. He should be able to perform all center and geodetic surveying works in compliance with the technology that ensures timely and reliable operational control. It also breaks down the design axes in underground and above-ground structures, dissecting and installing the first slit rings, laying the track in the tunnel. Participates in the installation of the shield (vertical well, from which the construction of the tunnel begins), geodetic work on laying the railway track in the tunnels and in the centering works during the construction of artificial structures. This does not end the activity of the mine surveyor - during the construction process, he monitors the deformation of the structures and the geodetic control of the construction progress, the observance of the geometric parameters of the project, etc. Mine surveyor activity takes place in specific, sometimes extreme conditions. Underground operations require adherence to a strict technological regime, as well as compliance with safety regulations. The organization of security measures rests entirely with the worker; life, in the literal sense of the word, of a whole group of people depends on it. Therefore, the mine surveyor requires high responsibility for the performance of his immediate functions, attentiveness, excellent self-control and self-discipline, the ability to organize people and exercise control over their activities.
