1. General characteristics of the profession
Prepares an electric locomotive for the trip, serves it on the way. Controls with the help of a controller, on which there are several control handles and a pneumatic crane, which can slow down the stroke. Monitors the instrument readings and the situation on the route.
2. Requirements for the individual characteristics of a specialist
Physical endurance, high acuity of hearing and vision, high speed and accuracy of sensorimotor reactions, developed eye (linear, planar, volumetric), excellent coordination of movements, emotional stability, the ability to distribute and quickly switch attention, good visual memory, a tendency to work with the technique.
3. Medical contraindications
The work is not recommended for people suffering from diseases of the cardiovascular system with severe pathology, decreased visual acuity, narrowing of the visual fields, impaired binocularity and color sensation, chronic ear diseases with decreased function, disorders of the vestibular apparatus, bronchial asthma, and pronounced pathology of the musculoskeletal system impeding movement.
4. Requirements for training
Good knowledge of physics (electrical engineering) is needed. Must know the device, the principles of operation and technical characteristics of the serviced locomotives and their equipment, the causes of malfunctions and ways to eliminate them, plumbing, rules of movement by rail and alarm.
