no internet connection through the ASUS router (RX-3041 v2) + TP- modem +PPPtP
the provider says there are frequent DHCP requests but no authorization,
checked:
1. ip (local) assigned by the provider to the network interface
2. sometimes - intermittently the provider's VPN server responds to ping
3. some routes from the provider received via print
4. tried connecting directly without the RX-3041 v2 router - same result, ip assigned to network interface, recreated the VPN connection - connected 1 time out of 20
5. operating system Windows XP licensed with updates 3 sp
6. firewall disabled
7. antivirus essential
8. this modem worked normally in another location, also as a bridge, but it was used for connection via PPoE, established by the computer
9. ADSL light on the modem is constantly on, internet light on the router blinks
10. completely reset all router and modem settings. no DHCP on the modem
11. URL is resolved via DNS
