Lecture
In the case of the sole-authored development of an MD and individual decision-making, in order to increase the validity of the DM's adoption of one or another decision, the DM as a rule turns to his memory, in which is stored information about his past experience, in particular, experience related to making decisions in the field of activity being studied.
In psychology, human memory is conventionally divided into three levels: sensory, short-term, and long-term. Short-term and long-term memory are usually associated with decision-making, since the processing and use of the information contained in them affects the DM's behavior when developing and constructing alternative MDs and selecting the final one from among them.
The information available in short-term and long-term memory is used by the DM, for example:
Pay attention!
The need to select an alternative (a particular MD) arises when a distinction appears between the concepts of «desired» and «undesired» — of two alternatives, one is the desired (more preferable) one.
