The receptivity of the receiver to external influences

Lecture

The receiver's susceptibility to external influences is its response to interference acting through the antenna and other inputs. (Buga, pp. 20-21).
External interference may change the reception conditions, but does not affect the ability of the receiver to receive weak signals in their absence. Susceptibility is characterized by power, power flux density, electrical or magnetic field strength. When assessing susceptibility to interference acting on the power supply, control and switching circuits, the voltage and frequency of interference are taken into account.
Receiver elements, possessing susceptibility and interference, may themselves become sources of interference. Resistors are susceptible to interference, causing a change in their resistance due to high-frequency heating and leading to parasitic emf (especially film and wire resistors) while resistors simultaneously create thermal noise, which can affect low noise amplifiers.
Coils create parasitic electromagnetic fields and at the same time susceptible to interference. Capacitors are susceptible to radioactive, light, X-ray irradiation, causing dielectric ionization.
