The fidelity of message reproduction is the ability of the receiver, in the absence of interference, to reproduce the output modulation law with a given accuracy. Quantification of fidelity is estimated by changing the shape of the output signal with respect to the modulating function, i.e. distortions. To estimate the distortion use two methods: spectral and direct comparison.
