Before proceeding to the tasks on deposits and discounts , it is necessary to figure out why people even put money in the bank and how to find a favorable discount.
Naturally, people put money in the bank (open a deposit), not out of the goodness of their soul. Deposits are opened for profit. The bank offers the following: you deposit a certain amount in the bank for a certain period. For example, for a year. During the year you will not be able to use your money (the bank will use it), but the bank will pay you for this, returning not only the amount invested by you, but also a small fee in a year.
What will be the amount of the reward? To find it, the bank sets the interest per annum. If you multiply the amount of your deposit by the interest per annum, you will find out what remuneration the bank will add to your deposit.
Consider the tasks on these topics from the Peterson and Vilenkin textbooks.
Let us analyze the Peterson problem from the textbook.
The depositor contributed 1200 p. To the bank. How much will the contribution become in a year if the bank charges income of 4% per annum?
Decision:
Let's find out what remuneration the bank will report to the depositor. To do this, multiply 1200 p. at 4% per annum.
4% = 0.04
1200 • 0, 04 = 48 p. - such remuneration will be reported by the bank to the depositor in a year.
Now we find the total amount that the investor will take in a year.
1200 + 48 = 1248 p. - the contribution will turn into such a sum in a year.
Answer: 1248 r. - the contribution will turn into such a sum in a year.
Discount is a reduction in the price of a product or service. Most often, a discount is indicated in percent. Therefore, in order to find out by how much the price of a product has gone down in rubles, the price of the product must be multiplied by the percentage of the discount.
Product price is 5000 p. The product is offered a 10% discount. Find the price of goods with discount.
Decision:
Find a discount in rubles.
10% = 0.1
5000 • 0.1 = 500 p. - discount in rubles.
Now we will find the price of the goods with the discount.
5000 - 500 = 4500 r. - the price of goods with discount.
Answer: 4500 p. - the price of goods with discount.
