Lecture

A spreadsheet processor is a set of interrelated programs intended for processing spreadsheets.

A spreadsheet is a computer equivalent of a conventional table consisting of rows and a graph, at the intersection of which are located cells containing numerical information, formulas, or text. The value in the numerical cell of the table is either recorded or calculated using the appropriate formula. The formulas may contain appeals to other cells.

When any change in the value in the cell of the table, recording a new value in it from the keyboard, the values are also recalculated in all those cells containing values depending on the given cell.

Graphs and lines can have their own names. The monitor screen is a window through which you can view the table as a whole or in parts.

Tabular processors are a convenient tool for accounting and statistical calculations. Each package includes hundreds of built-in mathematical functions and algorithms for statistical data processing. At the same time there are powerful tools for linking tables with each other, creating and editing electronic databases.

Using specific tools, you can automatically receive and print custom reports and use dozens of different types of tables, graphs, charts, provide them with comments and graphic illustrations.

Tabular processors have a built-in help system that provides the user with information on each of the specific menu commands and other reference data. Using multidimensional tables, you can quickly make selections in the database by any criterion.

The most popular tabular processors are Microsoft Excel (Excel) and Lotus 1-2-3.

In Microsoft Excel, many routine operations are automated, special templates allow you to create reports, import data and much more.

The Lotus 1-2-3 program is a professional spreadsheet processor. Large graphical features and user-friendly interface of the package help to quickly navigate it. Using this processor, you can create any financial document, report for accounting, create a budget, or even place all these documents in databases.
