An electrician (lineman) is a specialist engaged in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical networks, equipment and systems. They work with high-voltage and low-voltage installations, ensuring the safety and uninterrupted operation of power supply in residential, industrial and commercial facilities.
Working as an electrician requires good physical condition and the absence of health contraindications:
Normal vision and hearing (including color discrimination)
Absence of diseases of the nervous system and the musculoskeletal system
Stable blood pressure
Absence of chronic diseases that interfere with working at height or in confined spaces
The work requires high concentration and responsibility:
Stress resistance
Ability to make quick decisions
Attentiveness and accuracy
A tendency to follow instructions and safety standards
Ability to work in a team and independently
Secondary vocational education (technical schools, colleges with a specialization in «Electrician», «Electrical worker», «Electrical equipment»)
Advanced training and certification for admission to work with electrical installations (electrical safety clearance groups from II to V)
Knowledge of the Electrical Installation Code (PUE), the Rules for Technical Operation of Consumer Electrical Installations (PTEEP), and occupational safety rules
Skills in working with measuring instruments, diagrams and drawings
