Under operating conditions, the short-circuit mode. creates an emergency mode, because the secondary current, as well as the primary one, increases by several dozen times as compared with the nominal, therefore, protection is set, which, when the short-circuit voltage is automatically disconnects the transformer from the network.
The exceptions are measuring current transformers, special furnace transformers that withstand short-term short-circuits. Duration <10-12 sec. Electric transformers for arc installations count on 3x overload.
With the experience of k. the parameters of the short network are determined.

With the experience of short-circuit, the power consumed by the transformer goes to heat the windings of the transformer, i.e. is equal to the electric loss of re in the wires of the windings.
