An inductive coil with a steel magnetic core is called a choke. This is an electromagnetic device in which the coil regulates the current.
The higher the L, the smaller the current I, therefore you can change the number of turns of the coil

If you apply to the winding U, then I will flow, which will induce a magnetic flux F in the magnetic core, which induces a self-induction EMF in the winding E.
Actual value:
With a sinusoidal voltage at the terminals of the winding, the induced emf is also sinusoidal, therefore, if we neglect the voltage losses on the winding, then
Fm = BmS,
S - the cross-sectional area of the magnetic circuit
Bm - the maximum value of induction
Inductance L of the working winding depends on the magnetic resistance of the magnetic circuit.
RDR - resistance of the winding wire
Application: in email. machines, inductive sensors and rectifier filters
