Lecture
The management of a special school (boarding school) is carried out in accordance with the legislative acts of the Republic of Belarus,
and the charter of the special school (boarding school). Direct management of the special school (boarding school) is carried out by the director, appointed by the founder. The director of the special school (boarding school) approves the structure and staff within the limits of the funds allocated for wages. The heads of the structural subdivisions report directly to the school director:
the heads of structural subdivisions: the instructional-methodological unit,
the upbringing unit (deputy directors for instructional-methodological, upbringing, and instructional-upbringing work), and the line managers of the services: medical-preventive, social, administrative-
economic, and the head of the library. The school director ensures
effective interaction and cooperation among all internal structures
with local self-government bodies and higher authorities. The body of internal self-government is the pedagogical council; the self-government body is the School Council.
School methodical associations (MA) operate in the special school
according to stages of instruction and subjects (the MA of primary-grade teachers
and speech therapists, the MA of subject teachers, the MA of educators).
The integrative functions in organizing the activity of the teaching staff
toward achieving educational aims and objectives are performed by the methodical
associations. The psychological-medical-pedagogical council (PMPc) of the boarding school works out individual development programs for
each student and pupil on the basis of comprehensive diagnostics
carried out by teachers, educators, medical workers, the social service, psychologists, and speech therapists. On the basis of the individual development programs and individual educational routes, the entire instructional-upbringing process is organized, ensuring the effective
achievement of results: in achieving the educational standard, in
forming the need for a healthy lifestyle, in forming
key competencies, and in developing personal qualities.
The activity of all structures and staff is regulated (coordinated) by internal rules of conduct, local acts, job descriptions, orders of the head, and other administrative documents. The forms of coordinating the activity of the administrative apparatus
managing the special school (boarding school) are: the pedagogical council (analysis of work, diagnosis, correction of results,
decision-making, implementation of decisions), a meeting with the director, a small pedagogical council, work plans (annual, quarterly, weekly for all substructures, an in-school monitoring plan, orders and directives).
The collegial governing bodies of the special school are: the pedagogical council (the school's highest self-government body, which decides
questions concerning the quality of students' knowledge, abilities, and skills, and the professional development of teachers, their scholarly-pedagogical and methodological level). The pedagogical council meets not less than 4 times a year. It reviews and adopts decisions on the proposals of the methodical council,
concerning the development of education at the school.
A Public Council made up of parents and representatives of the institution is elected at the school. The school's Public Council operates on the basis of a Regulation on it and convenes not less than 2 times a year. The Public
Council is called upon to assist the School in organizing the educational process, the social protection of students, ensuring uniform requirements
for students and pupils, and organizing leisure, summer recreation, and
labor for students.
The General Meeting of the Labor Collective regulates labor, socio-economic, and professional relations between the head and the employees.
The Student Council carries out activity in all areas of upbringing work at the school, helps conduct all extracurricular and social events, provides mentorship for the primary school, and helps organize the instructional-upbringing process.
The Parent Committee provides assistance to the school in instructional-upbringing work, in promoting pedagogical knowledge among parents, and carries out liaison and interaction between the teachers and the parents, the school and the family.
