So, you have an old Cisco PIX in your hands. Old, but reliable — it works, and that's good. But for some reason it doesn't understand the standard "copy running-config startup-config" command (like quite a lot of other things, actually).

So how do we save the current configuration to flash memory so it doesn't get reset on the next restart.

We run (from enable mode, of course):

# write mem
