One of the few decisive critics of the king was the young Karl Heinrich Marx (1818-1883). Despite the ban on the publication of the article, she became known to all, Marx attracted attention as a bold and principled journalist. In 1842, Marx began publishing a series of critical articles under the general title “Debate on Freedom of the Press”. In freedom of the press, Marx did not see the instrument, as Lenin later, but the mirror of the national spirit. October 15, 1842, Marx became the chief editor of the newspaper. On his initiative, she began to go out with the subtitle "The first political newspaper of Germany." As an editor, Marx raised the circulation to 3,400 copies, it was an unprecedented success and irritated the authorities. The authorities pursued a newspaper and banned it on January 21, 1843.
