how can I find out when it will become available?
each registrar has a different RedemptionPeriod duration, roughly from 30 to 45 days + another 5 days.
Domain names that are not renewed within 30 days of the registration expiration date are deleted. In most international zones and some Ukrainian zones, after deletion the domain moves into the Redemption Period state (another name for it is Pending Delete Restorable). In this state, all operations with the domain are blocked except for restoration.
During this period the domain registration can be restored by the owner. The cost of the restore operation is usually 5-10 times the cost of registering the domain.
The duration of the Redemption Period in most zones is 30 days. 5 days after the Redemption Period ends, the domain is permanently deleted from the registry and can be registered again by any registrar, at the regular price.
Zones that have a Redemption Period:
International: biz, cc, com, info, name, net, org, tv, xxx
