Pointer events provide a unified way of handling all input events. Back in the day we had the mouse and the corresponding event listeners to deal with it, but nowadays we have plenty of devices that do not involve a mouse, such as phones with a touch surface, or styluses. We need to keep in mind that these events will only work in browsers that support the specificationPointer Events .

The following event types are now available in React DOM :
