Aging peoples

Not ten grandchildren bury their grandmother, but one sadly fusses about burying all the grandparents.

The old nations mow, stiffen. Raising the average age is a decrease in the energy of the people, not the pressure and enthusiasm, not the courage and greatness of goals.
Increasing age is less susceptibility to new ideas. Ideological inertness and inertia, passivity.
Age conservatism would prefer to keep everything as it is. Tendency to a protective, defensive policy. The initiative in the confrontation of civilizations is given to another: who is younger, more energetic and greedy.
