Speeding up site indexing is one of the key questions for a beginner webmaster. After all, a great deal depends on how fast a site is indexed: from its search rankings to the size of its profits. So don't forget about indexing when promoting your site.
Over the years the internet has existed, many ways to speed up indexing have appeared. Over time some of these methods became outdated, while others are still around today.
In this article we'll cover all the ways to speed up site indexing. And, of course, we'll tell you which ones are now outdated and which new ones have appeared.
Free ways to speed up indexing:
- First of all, once the site is launched, it needs to be added to the search engines. To do this you'll need to register accounts with Google Webmaster and Yandex Webmaster. Then, in Google, click the "Add a property" button and enter your site's URL in the input field.
To add your site to Yandex, click the "Add site" link in your account. Then, on the site-addition page, enter your site's URL in the input field and click the "Add site" button.
This account offers a wide range of useful tools for webmasters, but the main reason you need it at first is for indexing your site. To do this you simply need to specify the path to your XML sitemap in your account. It's best if your sitemap updates automatically as new pages appear on your site. If you can't do that yet, you can create an XML sitemap using the XML-Sitemaps.com generator. It lets you process up to 500 pages of your site for free. After generating it, save it to your site's root folder, and in Google Webmaster and Yandex Webmaster, in the sitemap section, add a link to your sitemap (a link like: site/sitemap.xml). To add a sitemap in Google Webmaster, go to your site's Search Console account, in the "Sitemaps" menu click the red "Add/Test Sitemap" button, and in the window that appears add the path to your sitemap and click the "Submit" button.
Adding a sitemap in Yandex Webmaster is roughly the same process as for Google. In your Yandex Webmaster account, go to the "Sitemap files" menu item, enter the path to your sitemap in the input field, and click the add button.
After these simple steps, the crawler will index your site better, since it now knows your sitemap. And in your accounts you'll be able to see how many pages the crawler has indexed.

- Create an HTML sitemap. It should be 1 click away from the homepage. If your site has a lot of pages, it's worth splitting the sitemap into several pages, and you should also place a link to the sitemap on every page of the site.
- Submit your site to directories. You can do this yourself by finding directories through a search for “site directory”, or automatically using services such as: autoreg.ru
- Creating an RSS feed for your site and submitting it to directories will let you announce your published content on other sites.
- Write articles and publish them in article directories, on niche forums, and blogs. These articles should include a few links to pages on your site.
- You also need to build internal linking across your site. Every page should link to the homepage, and you should also create links to the main menu sections on every page. This will help speed up indexing.
- Apply the 3-click rule. Navigation should be designed so that any page is no more than 3 clicks away from the homepage.
- Try not to use drop-down menus built with scripts or Flash, as this makes indexing harder.
- Use a URL submission tool (add URL) to speed up the indexing of new pages and sites.
- Use social bookmarking. Its main advantage is the ability to add internal pages of your site.
- Set up accounts on social networks like Twitter, VK, Facebook, and G+, and post announcements of your new articles there with links to your site. For some social networks you can set up cross-posting (automatic publication of new articles) for your site.
- To speed up indexing, it's a good idea to stick to a publishing schedule for new articles on your site. The more often you write, the better.
- When registering your domain, avoid .info and .org, since it's been observed that Yandex indexes them poorly.
Paid options for speeding up indexing:
- An effective method is buying links to the page you need indexed on link exchanges (Sape and so on). Buy links with a high tIC and PageRank. To avoid problems, check the sites manually. - Publish your articles with links to your site on article exchanges (Seozavr and so on). The main advantage is the large number of sites where you can place your articles with links.
- You can also arrange with sites in a similar niche to publish your articles, for a fee, with links to the pages of your site you need.
As you can see, the list has turned out to be pretty impressive. But not all the items on this list are still effective today.

- Of course, creating an XML sitemap and adding it to Google and Yandex Webmaster.
- Publishing new articles on your site. Even if you're not a news site. It doesn't matter. Make it a rule to write at least 4-5 articles a month.
