DBMS in the architecture of "client-server" Lecture 19. Architecture "client-server"

Lecture

With regard to database systems, the client-server architecture is interesting and relevant mainly because it provides a simple and relatively cheap solution to the problem of shared access to databases in a local network. In some ways, database systems based on the client-server architecture are an approximation to distributed database systems, of course, a substantially simplified approximation, but not requiring the solution of the main set of problems of truly distributed databases.
