Lecture
Very many functions of a complex variable are an analytical continuation of functions already known from the classical mathematical analysis. However, during the transition to a complex argument, many functions that seem to be known are acquiring completely new properties: for example, the exponent becomes periodic, and the root with any even indicators becomes quite ordinary and fully defined, even if it is a multi-valued function.
