Sanitary testing is highly targeted testing is sufficient to prove that a particular function operates according to the requirements stated in the specification. It is a subset of regression testing. Used to determine the health of a specific part of an application after changes made to it or to the environment. Usually done manually.
Some sources mistakenly believe that sanitary and smoke testing is one and the same. We believe that these types of testing have "motion vectors", directions in different directions. Unlike smoke ( Smoke testing ), sanitary testing ( Sanity testing ) is directed into the tested function, while smoke testing is directed in breadth , to cover the tests with as much functionality as possible in the shortest possible time.
