You must remember that quality assurance is not testing, and it is not intended to change only the testing process. You should understand that this concept covers all technological stages of development, production and operation of software information systems, undertaken at different stages of the life cycle to ensure the quality of the product. Therefore, any unsuccessful change may affect the quality of the final product. Based on this, I offer you the following plan for quality assurance :
- Explore all the processes with which the organization works. Make a list of all standards and processes, instructions, templates and tick those that need to be finalized or modified. Also write a list of what needs to be added to the existing process. Every planned change must be carefully thought out and justified. (see the article change processes and procedures for more details)
- Arrange a rally with the leaders of those groups where you need to change something. It is very important in a relaxed atmosphere (without nerves) to clarify what needs to be changed, what needs to be removed and what needs to be added, and most importantly why . Do not be afraid to admit that any changes you have planned can be revised or abandoned, in general, if the arguments of the company's employees outweigh yours (perhaps you are not well grounded on your point of view or your proposal will not really provide the necessary benefits). If you do, you can assume that you have coped with the initial stage of your work.
- Conduct all changes as carefully as possible, since any awkward movement can lead to irreversible consequences. People tend to get used to something, so any change can cause a lot of inconvenience. Therefore, do not start changing everything at once; introduce a new one gradually, if necessary, explaining to the employees of the company why this is necessary.
- Check that the changes you are proposing are being carried out and bring the proper result. Require team leaders to clearly follow the processes, instructions, and patterns.
- Do not stop there. Continue the search for what can be improved to create a better product, based on new processes, standards, instructions, templates already implemented.
