9. OPERATOR SUPERPOSITION

Lecture

A two-dimensional discrete superposition operator is defined, first, as a discrete linear filtering operator, applied to a finite sample array, and, second, as a discretized analog filtering operator. Usually these two definitions are not equivalent. Both definitions will apply below. In addition, a discrete superposition operator with a cyclically (periodically) continued scope will be introduced and the relations between the three operators will be described.
