Personnel psychodiagnostics — a field of psychology within which methods are developed and implemented for identifying and measuring the individual psychological characteristics of a person as a subject of professional activity and labour relations.
Psychodiagnostics in personnel management is aimed at studying those qualities of an employee that are significant from the standpoint of their professional success, development and effective interpersonal interaction in the work process.
For enterprises and organizations, turning to psychodiagnostics is relevant as a necessary factor in personnel management and in the development and expansion of production and companies.
The goals of mastering the discipline «Psychodiagnostics in Personnel Management» are:
a) forming knowledge of modern terminology, psychological phenomena, methods of studying and describing the patterns of the formation and functioning of an employee as a subject of professional activity from the standpoint of domestic and foreign approaches, and new techniques for diagnosing and assessing various psychological manifestations and features of the activity of a subject of professional activity,
b) teaching the technology for acquiring knowledge and skills in the psychodiagnostic process of personnel assessment, processing and analysing results, and forming a psychodiagnostic conclusion,
c) teaching methods for applying the psychodiagnostic process of personnel assessment for the effective solution of tasks in the field of personnel management,
d) revealing the essence of the processes occurring in the field of personnel management under modern Russian conditions.
As a result of mastering the discipline, the following competencies are formed:
Possessing the skills to analyse and diagnose the state of an organization's social sphere, the ability to purposefully and effectively implement modern technologies of social work with personnel, and to participate in the drafting and implementation of plans (programmes) for social development, taking into account the actual state of the social sphere, the economic condition and the general development goals of the organization.
Possessing the skills of self-management and independent learning and the readiness to convey them to colleagues, ensuring the prevention of personal professional deformation and professional burnout.
As a result of mastering the discipline, the student must:
Know: a) the role and place of psychodiagnostics in personnel management;
b) the directions of psychodiagnostics in personnel management;
c) the requirements for organizing and conducting psychodiagnostic procedures, and the principles of constructing psychological research;
d) the main psychodiagnostic methods and techniques.
Be able to: a) approach practical personnel management tasks from the standpoint of scientific psychology and psychodiagnostics;
b) identify organizational problems and select psychodiagnostic tools adequate to them;
c) apply methods and techniques for the individual diagnosis of personnel, groups and group processes;
d) work with educational and scientific psychological literature.
Possess: a) the basic scientific concepts of psychodiagnostics;
b) the basic psychodiagnostic procedures, in accordance with the stages of psychodiagnostic assessment and the chosen research methods and techniques.
