The Institute, the lab that produces the synths, mostly does not believe they are truly sentient and attributes any apparent yearning for freedom to a malfunction.

- The Terminator (1984) — (also known as the T-800, T-850, or Model 101) refers to a series of fictional cyborg characters from the «Terminator» franchise. Terminators are robotic infiltration units covered in living tissue so they cannot be distinguished from humans, tasked with destroying specific human targets.
