Lecture
Introduction
People can exchange different types of information at different levels of understanding. It is known that communication is not limited to oral or written communications. In this process, an important role is played by emotions, manners of partners, gestures. Psychologists have found that in the process of human interaction, 60 to 80% of communications are carried out using non-verbal means of expression, and only 20–40% of the information is transmitted using verbal ones. This data makes us think about the meaning of non-verbal communication for mutual understanding of people, pay special attention to the meaning of human gestures and facial expressions, and also create a desire to master the art of interpreting this particular language that we all speak without even realizing it.
The peculiarity of non-verbal language is that its manifestation is due to the impulses of our subconscious, and the lack of the ability to fake these impulses allows us to trust this language more than the usual, verbal communication channel.
The success of any business contact largely depends on the ability to establish a trusting contact with the interlocutor, and such contact depends not so much on what you say, but on how you hold yourself. That is why special attention should be paid to the manner, posture and facial expressions of the interlocutor, as well as how he gestures.
Understanding the language of facial expressions and gestures allows you to more accurately determine the position of the interlocutor. Reading gestures, you provide feedback, which plays a decisive role in the holistic process of business interaction, and a set of gestures is an important part of such communication. You will be able to understand how you say what you say - with approval or hostility, an interlocutor is open or closed, busy with self-control or bored.
Knowledge of body language and gestures allows not only to better understand the interlocutor, but also to anticipate what impression he had heard on him even before he expressed himself on this matter. Such a wordless language can warn you about what your interlocutor actually thinks, what to change in your behavior, how to achieve the desired result.
This anthology contains systematically selected passages from literary sources. The material is compiled in such an order that allows you to more effectively absorb the subject. Each lesson contains methodical instructions of a certain kinetic behavior and a number of test tasks, exercises and situations, the fulfillment of which is considered a condition of preparation for practical exercises.
