Frustration (from Latin frustratio – deception, vain expectation) – a negative mental state that arises in a situation of the real or presumed impossibility of satisfying certain needs, or, put more simply, in a situation of a mismatch between desires and available possibilities; this state is manifested in experiences of disappointment, anxiety, irritability, and, ultimately, despair.
