This is my drawing about New Year's Eve before Christmas carols and Shchedrik. I wanted to convey the atmosphere, when everything around is magical and a little fairytale-like. On the left is a Christmas tree, covered in decorations and with a purple star on top, as if it were expecting guests. In the center is a snowman, so funny, with blue balls instead of the usual white, in a top hat, with branches instead of arms—as if he himself wants to go caroling. Above him are the sun and snowflakes at the same time, because we have both frost and bright winter sunshine. On the right is a house, red, cozy, with a blue window—they're probably already baking kalachi there and waiting for the Shchedriks. And in the background is white snow, everything is clean and calm. And the inscription "Shchedrik" is like an invitation to this winter fairytale.
I deliberately made the snowman blue because a regular white one would be boring, and this way he looks like a character from a winter cartoon. His hat is like a true gentleman's, as if he's about to go sing Shchedrivka. And the snowflakes and the sun together are like the magic of the holiday: it's supposedly freezing, but everything glows and warms the soul. The tree is like a center of attraction; there are probably presents lying underneath, or maybe someone hid candy there for the carolers.
The house on the right is a symbol of comfort. I imagine grandma baking pies there, and children dressing up as angels and goats to walk through the courtyards. The window glows, meaning guests are expected. And the inscription is like an invitation: let's forget about everything and just build a snowman, like in childhood, when everything was simple and fun.
