Cultivating stupidity

All Russians remember the times when they laughed at Mikhail Zadornov's jokes about stupid Americans. The audience was filled with national pride because of seeming intellectual superiority over an ignorant and degrading nation, watching wrestling and eating big maca. And so, something happened to us that we despised - an epidemic of stupidity came to Russia.

It would seem - why does the state support and still try to lower the already low intellectual level of the population, because its economic, industrial, scientific and cultural progress directly depends on the state of minds of its fellow citizens? Why directly in that era when the inhabitants of the planet had so many means and opportunities for education and creativity, we see such a flow of stupidity in the movies, on the network and on TV?

But we will sort everything on the shelves.

First, let's accept the obvious fact - yes, people do not like to think. Brainstorming is to some degree a work that consumes energy, and people are too lazy to strain themselves. Nervous tension in the head causes fatigue and discomfort. And therefore, instead of reading smart books or useful creation, it’s better to sit in front of the TV or on the Internet.

Ignorance and capitalism go hand in hand. The USSR went the other way - the population tried to comprehensively form, one of the best education systems was created at that time, the Soviet people were one of the most read in the world (they read, though, they were all avidly, but this is another story), children were actively attracted to join the circles of radio engineers, designers, etc. However, by developing enlightenment, the USSR pulled the branch on which he was sitting. Educated and developed people did not seriously believe in the idea of ​​communism, and at the right moment came out against the existing regime.

The capitalists understood well that a stupid person is much more useful for the authorities. He will not rebel when his favorite TV series, the episode of “The Battle of Psychics” or “Comedy”, goes on TV. Although it can be made to hate power, showing its alleged or real crimes through the Internet and pumping the necessary emotions, but the global network, too, will sooner or later take control.

And here it’s not so much a matter of politics, those who stand on top of the economic pyramid understand:
THE MORE THAN THE BETTER, THE MORE EASIER TO EARN ON THEM AND EASIER TO MANAGE IT.

So, in order to make it easier for people to manage, they need to be weaned from thinking a lot. The thinking of the average citizen should remain at the level of thinking of a teenager.

How is this done in practice?

1) Patterns and stereotypes make thinking much easier. The more stencils and generally accepted points of view in your head, the less room for your own thoughts. Of particular importance is the opinion of "authorities" acting in the media - artists, athletes, politicians, TV anchors: if you listen to them all the time, you will not have to work on drawing up your own opinion.

2) A man in the street should think strictly assessed. Estimates should be categorical, unambiguous: this is good, and this is evil; this is good and this is bad; it is white, and it is black - there is no third, no gray shades or semitones.

3) What does a citizen actually do when relaxing after working in front of the TV? Gets emotions and laughs. Humorous programs (as well as funny pictures and videos, and “statements” on the Internet) occupy the lion’s share of the leisure activities of ordinary people. However, this humor does not require mental effort, basically it is flat (as for children), or vulgar-toilet-abusive (as an option, “cynical”, but also stupid). The best humor for citizens is the so-called “rzhaka” - when some inappropriate action that does not require any thought causes a laughter reaction.

4) The entire diverse entertainment industry is aimed at minimizing the habit of thinking - 50 television channels in each house, various shows, shopping and entertainment complexes, bars, clubs and cafes, alcohol. What people would not be busy - the main thing that did not interfere.

I hope no one will argue that Dom-2, TNT broadcasts, TV shows and music videos, as well as mouse clicks in search of rzhaki or sexual discharge on the Internet, do not develop intelligence, but rather suppress the desire to move brains.

Dullness, sexual behavior, aggression and shocking is celebrated in television shows and comedies. It clearly demonstrates how fun and fun it is to be stupid?
