Combined lamp - an electronic lamp, which combines two and more lamps in one cylinder. Lamps containing three or more electrode systems in one cylinder are called compactrons, in fact, this is a micro tube assembly.
Combined (especially double) lamps are very common. The advantages of combined lamps are saving weight and dimensions, simplifying installation and saving power. However, the combined lamps are more difficult to manufacture, and their cost often exceeds the cost of two separate lamps.
Designed for frequency conversion with simultaneous automatic gain control, to amplify audio signals, and so on. Used in superheterodyne receivers, ULF, radios, and so on. Lamps work in any position. Available in glass finger design.
